Pretty cure is a fighting magical girl anime that runs for the whole year every year since 2004. It is aimed at young girls and also has a big male audience and is essentially Japan's anime equivalent to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Like for instance Digimon, most seasons of this series air under a different title with a different cast of characters and different setting. The most accessible season is Heartcatch Precure. There is also a manga series about Precure fans called “Don’t become an Otaku, Shinozaki!”
